Post Break: Getting the Kids Prepped

This winter, I enrolled my two boys in a youth basketball league. They expressed in interest in wanted to play for a little while now, and I decided that joining a team sport would do a lot to help build character and teamwork skills. Additionally, it could be a hobby that they want to take with them throughout their young lives. They've really done a good job since the league started. They both store several baskets per game, and it's really exciting to see them in action. They might just be the next two superstars in another 10 years or so. You never can tell.

I always try and do everything to ensure those two boys are well off. At home, I'm having some new Sears double pane windows installed to help keep their room a little warmer this winter. Additionally, I still take the boys to their Boy Scouts meetings, as well. I want to do everything I can to ensure that these guys get a lot of great character building experiences at a young age. It's a competitive world, and I want to make sure they're ready when the time comes!

A New Home A New Life

They say home is where the heart is and we firmly believe that's true. No matter how big or small your home is and whether it's old or new, wherever the whole family is then that place becomes not just an ordinary house but a home.

Right now we're just living in an apartment but we're hoping to find a new home for our growing baby. The place where we live now is good enough but having a place of our own can help so much in baby's developments too. A small apartment can put much restrictions on baby's growth because he can't do so much other things with a limited space. A new home can give us a new life, a life more free and more room to grow.

It will be our first time buying a house and we're hoping that our good credit can score us to a better home mortgage offer. This can help a lot in the financial aspect which will give us the power to finally acquire a property that we've always wanted to have.

Warning! No Chllies for Moms-To-Be

This post brought to you by TABASCO® Original Red. All opinions are 100% mine.

Being pregnant gives us the privilege of indulging and eating almost everything we want. Most women get to enjoy this but for me that's never the case. I had to be very careful with what I eat and the portions due to gestational diabetis. Thinking of baby's health and well-being is the most important thing for me so no-no even to my biggest cravings. It wasn't easy because I used to enjoy certain foods but being careful with what I eat, I had to give up some things. Of course I get occasional pizzas and chili beans but without TABASCO® Original Red, the best condiment to go with those dishes.  As much as I want some zing in my savory foods I had to be careful since I read that too much chilly can induce labor.  Whether it's true or not I'd rather not risk for baby's sake.

Now that baby's born I can enjoy some more pizza and chili beans with few drops of Tabasco original red, lactation nurses told us spices don't go through the milk but still need to ease up a bit to avoid passing gas to baby.  Even a tiny little drop elevates the level of taste making it a whole lot more complete.  What's best is it's perfect timing for the Super Bowl Game-Day Party MenuPizza Perfected with every bite.  Occasional indulging isn't bad but make sure to still keep it in moderation.

Baby Development @ 9 months

Here are the baby milestones @ 9 months: By the end of the month most babies should be able to:
  • Reach for toys
  • Drop objects and look for them
  • Show interest in grabbing the spoon during eating
  • Pick up tiny objects
  • Begin to identify self in a mirror’s reflection
The dropping game is little J's favorite, he giggles everytime he drops whatever he's holding and mommy had to pick it up. Very curious than with everything going around him he actually wants to try things by himself. I have to be always watchful because he's starting to pick tiny things and try to stuff in his tiny mouth too. Well what can I do, I have a developing baby boy =)
